1) Don't drink your calories. We've said it before and we'll say it again, this time with Bob Greene on our side. The stats are pretty shocking... Women gulp an average of 456 calories per day! Plus, since calories in liquid form are immediately absorbed by your body, they don't have a filling effect, so you'll get hunger sooner. As for healthy juice, his rule of thumb is this: If you're trying to lose weight, you can count one four-ounce glass of 100% fruit juice as a fruit serving. Anything extra is a treat. 2) Stop eating 2-3 hours before bed. There's no exact cutoff time, since everyone goes to bed at a different hour. The "don't eat after seven" rule will lead to late night tummy growls and/or binges if your bedtime isn't until midnight! Instead, plan your meal or snack at least two hours before you hit the hay. Still want to raid the pantry? Bob suggest journaling. Since night eating is a big indicator that you're eating to fulfill an emotional need, rather than fueling up for your next activity.
