The morning weather was iffy today so we took our stroller exercise class indoors. Being stuck inside the mall means having to utilize a small space, limited equipment (resistance bands only), and little time (45-50 minutes before shoppers come). As an instructor that means I have to get creative to provide a challenging indoor workout for everyone. And sometimes that's where the wall comes into play. (more)

For many, celebrating a birthday is synonymous with cake and ice cream. It’s become more apparent to me lately just how many people have difficulty either getting started with a fitness program or simply adhering to one. I’m coming to believe that there is a certain mind set, or psychology let’s call it, behind the problem. For most athletes, fitness and sports have simply been part of their lives for as long as they remember. And because of this, workouts are something they just do, and don’t analyze. (more)

Riding a bike is good for your body but might not do much for your bones. Wednesday, January 14, 2009. It said that the study showed that serious cyclists who rode seven to 22 hours a week for an average of nearly 10 years had lower body fat, more muscle and took in more calcium than a control group. But they were also 2.5 to three times more likely to have osteoporosis or near-osteoporosis. (more)
